About Our Facility
Auxiliary House is part of Cedar Creek Memory Care Homes in Montgomery County, which began in 1995 as an alternative to the larger and more institutionalized senior living communities. Our mission is to create a home-like environment where our residents can feel safe, comfortable, and loved. We believe quality memory care programs should be about an intimate relationship with our residents and a partnership with our families.
Our home is designed for residents in the early to moderate stages of dementia. We provide 8 private studio bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Auxiliary House also has a communal kitchen, dining room, living room, and sitting area for residents to enjoy.
Activities & Services
In order to encourage our residents to continue activities they may have been involved with in their homes, it is not uncommon to find a resident helping to set the table for meals, helping staff members fold laundry, or watering the flowers. Engaging our residents in meaningful activities around the home helps to create an aura of familiarity that brings them comfort and a sense of purpose.
When residents move into Auxiliary House, we create a short biography that highlights their life accomplishments, where they are from, their talents and hobbies, and what brings them joy. Our “Family Album” with everyone’s story creates the basis for our activity program. It’s a way for our residents and staff to make connections and for our staff to learn about our residents and who they were before their memory loss.
Additionally, our residents enjoy three home-cooked meals a day served in our communal dining room. Not only does our staff adjust for allergies and dietary restrictions, but we also know each resident’s likes and dislikes. Our staff knows our residents’ favorite ice cream flavors and how they like their coffee or tea.

Many of our staff have been with us for 10 to 25 years — in an industry with a generally high turnover rate, this number speaks volumes to the dedication and commitment of our employees.
We have an excellent staff-to-resident ratio of 1:4 during the day and 1:8 overnight. We have staff available 24/7 to assist with activities of daily living, medication management, nutrition monitoring, housekeeping, and laundry.
In addition to our caregivers and medication technicians, we have a delegating nurse, two directors, an activity therapist, a maintenance supervisor, a human resources manager, and a business manager. Our team of dedicated staff works together to keep Auxiliary House running smoothly.
