Memory Care Facility Near Burtonsville, Maryland

Memory Care facilities in Brookeville MD

As adults age, it’s possible to experience things like Alzheimer’s disease, motor skills loss and general health problems. Over time, it may become increasingly difficult to address these concerns at home. If you have a senior loved one with growing health needs, it may be time to consider senior living solutions, such as an assisted living or memory care home.

The purpose of memory care facilities is to give older adults the nursing care and emotional support they deserve. At Cedar Creek Memory Care Homes’ Maple Ridge (located near Burtonsville, Maryland), we offer everything seniors need for a fulfilling life, from experienced caregivers to holistic activities. Here’s a closer look at our home.

Lovely Location

When choosing a memory care or assisted living home, one of the most important factors is location. Memory care communities situated in cities may offer entertainment and amenities, but they can also get noisy. Meanwhile, facilities in country locations are peaceful and serene but lack excitement.
At Maple Ridge, we offer the best of both worlds. Our home is in Bradmoor, in Montgomery County, a quiet, relaxing neighborhood surrounded by parks and greenery. Along with stunning nature views, you'll encounter arts, entertainment and amenities (such as Suburban Hospital, just across the street). It's also within driving distance of many popular cities, including the following:
- Burtonsville, MD
- Washington, DC
- Frederick, MD
The prime Maryland location is matched by a comfortable, one-of-a-kind home setting.

Cozy Home

Cedar Creek Memory Care Homes always prioritizes the comfort and well-being of its residents. Unlike other Alzheimer's care facilities, our community is designed to resemble an actual home. Reminiscent of a bed-and-breakfast, it features the following:
- Porch
- Gardens
- Living room and lounge
- Dining area
- Kitchen
During warm seasons, you'll find residents relaxing on the porch or strolling through the gardens. On colder days, they might be socializing indoors, enjoying meals and participating in activities. Along with communal areas, we offer eight private suites (complete with private bathrooms). Residents are encouraged to show off their personalities by decorating rooms to their liking, which truly makes our community feel like a home.

Caregiving Services

At Maple Ridge, we blend the comforts residents might enjoy from home care with the quality and experience found in skilled nursing facilities. In addition to a cozy, pleasant atmosphere, each resident enjoys easy access to our team of caregivers. Our staff is experienced in dementia care and can provide the following services:
Assistance with daily living activities (such as bathing, grooming and dressing)
- Personal care
- Incontinence care
- Nutrition monitoring
- Medication management
To ensure every resident's unique needs are met, we maintain a small staff-to-resident ratio of 1:4 throughout the day. We also facilitate access to external specialists, including physicians, dentists, therapists and podiatrists.
Working alongside our caregivers is a devoted team of managers, delegating nurses, landscaping supervisors and activity specialists. Every staff member plays an important role when it comes to managing the physical, mental and spiritual needs of residents.

Activities and Entertainment

If you have an aging loved one, you might notice them struggling to stay active and healthy. Unfortunately, this is a common problem — according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 30 million older adults don't get the exercise they need.
At Cedar Creek Memory Care Homes, we encourage all residents to stay active and healthy through a diverse range of activities. Rather than have a set schedule, we employ an activity therapist who collaborates closely with residents — then, we create fun activities based on everyone's interests. Here are just a few pastimes you might find going in our home:
- Musical sing-alongs
- Movie nights
- Exercise classes
Along with activities, residents help out around the home by performing daily chores. This helps foster a sense of community and purpose.

Memory Care Activities

Many seniors struggle with memory loss, especially as they get older. That’s why, along with our regular activities, we provide special memory care services. Upon arrival, every individual gets their own “resident biography.” Here, you’ll find details about their interests, achievements and backgrounds. Residents are free to browse through albums whenever they need to reminiscence.

Not only are family albums available to residents, but staff members read them as well — this helps our staff get to know them more personally. Everyone on our team loves connecting with seniors, and many of our team members have been here for more than 10 or 20 years.

Family-Style Dining

At Maple Ridge, we know food is a huge part of well-being. Every resident enjoys three nutritious, homemade meals a day, along with healthy snacks. Thanks to our small staff-to-resident ratio, our team can adjust for dietary requirements, allergy restrictions and personal likes and dislikes. We also encourage residents to help out with meal times, whether that means setting the table or clearing plates.

In addition to high-quality dining, we offer these services:

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Supportive technology

Our dining services, coupled with our helpful amenities, help keep residents comfortable and satisfied.

Memory Care Costs

Every senior deserves high-quality care and support during their golden years. Unfortunately, long-term care facilities can be expensive, especially when considering that many of them add charges as time goes on. At Cedar Creek Memory Care Homes, you’ll never be surprised by a sudden charge. Our all-inclusive pricing covers the following:

  • Private room
  • Meals
  • Caregiving services
  • Activities
  • Housekeeping/laundry

While care needs may increase, our prices don’t.

Home-Cooked Meals Daily

Mealtime and proper nutrition are important for our residents. With only 14 residents, we can tailor meals to our resident's specific needs and preferences. Our staff members get to know the residents and what they like and dislike. We know who likes a specific breakfast and who won’t eat a certain food. Additionally, we encourage family members to bring in special foods their loved ones may have enjoyed in their own homes.

Housekeeping and Laundry Services

Our caregivers make sure the home is kept clean and safe. In addition to our staff’s daily cleaning, we have a professional cleaning service come in every two weeks to complement our efforts. We also have on-site laundry facilities to ensure our memory care residents have clean clothing, bedding, and towels daily.

Personal Care

Our staff members are well trained to provide quality care services, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, medication administration, assistance with ambulation and feeding when needed. They can provide dementia care that is personalized since they know not only about the physical needs of each resident but also about their rich and personal history. Knowing this type of information when providing care is invaluable. This is the personalized service that sets Maple Ridge apart from other area memory care homes.

This community was great! They were very helpful and informative, and had a lot to offer for a much lower price then a lot of the other surrounding communities! Also love how all their homes are memory care homes in a small intimate environment!

After visiting other facilities I chose Auxiliary House for my father as the staff was very one-on-one, dedicated, caring and their personal involvement with my father was outstanding – also making the family feel reassured and comfortable.

Kathy Sabatier

My mother has been a resident at Auxiliary House for over 4 years. We feel so fortunate to have found this wonderful place where the staff care so deeply for all the residents.

Ann Moseley

My mother has been in Cedar Glen for two and a half years. It was the second facility I visited and my search stopped there. It’s a genuine home, not at all institutional, where all the residents are known and loved as individuals. It’s also very professionally run and there are clearly systems in place to ensure high standards of care. Staff turnover seems almost nonexistent. It’s exactly what a care home should be and I feel so lucky to have found it.

Dave Chapman

My mother lives here. Ruthie and Anna are the best, not just for managing the facility and communicating to families, but for being visionary and pro-active during these very trying times. I never wonder if my mom is well cared for. Thanks to all the staff for everything they do for all the residents, not just my mom — we’re lucky to have found this home.

Tracy Perkins

Mom moved from Auxiliary House to Hillwood when she needed more care. Both houses are managed by Cedar Creek. Fabulous company that knows dementia inside and out and cares for the residents in small homes (not institutional entities). Staff are great and have a long tenure with the company, the management is helpful and informed, and we couldn’t be happier with the care they provide. Strongly recommend. It was a great place for Mom.

Mary Goldstein

Hillwood is Amazing! My Uncle has been there since October of 2019 and he is very happy. If you want your love one to be safe, happy and well cared for this is the place for them! I am so thankful for all the staff and management do for my Uncle.

Joanne Irving

I cannot say enough positive things about the wonderful care and attention my mother receives from the superb staff at the Cedar Creek Homes. I feel blessed to have found them.

Jane Kelley

Exceptional management. Wonderful and VERY dedicated staff. Loving environment. Creative activities. I can’t say enough positive things about my 11 year experience at this home. You will sleep well at night knowing your family member is in the best possible hands.
