Anna Waweru, LPN, ALM
Clinical Director
Anna Waweru, LPN, has been an integral part of Cedar Creek since 1997, dedicating over 25 years to our community. Throughout her tenure, she has excelled in various roles, ultimately becoming the Clinical Director, where she oversees the clinical care for our five memory care homes. Anna is known for her kindness and compassion, bringing a gentle nature to her interactions with residents and staff alike.
Deeply committed to providing exceptional care, Anna consistently goes above and beyond for our residents. Her empathetic approach to nursing ensures that each resident receives personalized attention and the highest quality of care.
Meg DeSchriver, MA, ALM
Operations Director
Meg DeSchriver joined Cedar Creek Memory Care Homes in June 2021, bringing with her over 30 years of experience in eldercare, including nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She collaborates closely with our Clinical Director to manage the day-to-day operations of our five memory care homes.
Meg holds a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration & Psychology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and a Master’s degree in Recreation Administration and Certificate in Gerontology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Energetic and positive, Meg is always smiling and deeply enjoys working with residents, their families, and staff. Her extensive experience and joyful demeanor make her an invaluable asset to the Cedar Creek leadership team.
Kathy Dekelbaum
Business Manager
Kathy Dekelbaum holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of Maryland and a paralegal certification. Since joining Cedar Creek in 2007, she has been the cornerstone of our company. With over 17 years of dedicated service.
Jennese Stewart, ALM, CDP
Operations Coordinator – Cedar Glen & Maple Ridge
Jennese Stewart has been a dedicated member of Cedar Creek Memory Care Homes since 1998. Throughout her time with Cedar Creek, she has worked in various roles across all our homes, now focusing on overseeing Cedar Glen and Maple Ridge. Jennese is known for her versatility and willingness to go above and beyond in everything she does. Her ability to wear many hats and tackle any challenge sets her apart as a model of excellence for our staff. Adored by residents and families alike, Jennese holds a certificate in End of Life Care and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Assisted Living Manager. She also received the prestigious “Hero Award” from LifeSpan Network and was recognized at a state level for her dedication and service to the senior population in Maryland.
Omie Huggins, ALM, CDP
Operations Coordinator – Auxiliary House, Clifton Woods & Hillwood
Omie Huggins began her career with Cedar Creek in 2016 and has quickly risen to oversee three of our homes: Auxiliary House, Clifton Woods, and Hillwood. Always smiling and upbeat, Omie leads by example, providing unwavering support to both residents and staff. Her keen eye for decorating ensures our homes remain beautiful and welcoming.
Omie is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Assisted Living Manager, demonstrating her commitment to providing exceptional care at Cedar Creek.
Additionally, her background in childcare has equipped her with a nurturing approach and the ability to connect with individuals of all ages, enhancing her ability to foster a warm and engaging atmosphere in our homes.
Ruthie Fishman, BA, CADDCT
Special Projects Manager
Ruthie Fishman has been an integral part of Cedar Creek since 2003, beginning her journeys as an Activity Consultant and taking on various roles over the years. Her career in the senior living industry began in high school, working in a nursing home, and has continued to evolve.
Ruthie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
As a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Care Trainer and Certified Dementia Practitioner, Ruthie is deeply passionate about supporting older adults with cognitive impairments and is dedicated to sharing that passion and knowledge with the Cedar Creek community.
Grace Gary, BS
Activities Coordinator
Grace Gary joined our team in January 2024 and has quickly enhanced the quality of activities or our residents. She focuses on incorporating outside community involvement and tailoring engagement to each resident’s cognitive abilities.
Grace holds a Bachelor of Science in Family & Human Services from Towson University.
Grace brings a wealth of diverse experience, including years of caring for children and coordinating activities and programming for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Her innovative approach and dedication to enhancing resident experiences make her a valuable asset to our community.
